AFCON: Interesting Details As Super Eagles Tackles Pharaohs Of Egypt

The Super Eagles of Nigeria will begin their quest for another AFCON title when they face the Pharaohs of Egypt tomorrow. Nigeria will make its 19th appearance at the tournament, having reached the semi-finals in 14 of their last 16 participations. Nigeria has won the competition three times, with their last triumph coming in 2013.

For the first time, African streaming service, Showmax, is streaming all games live and in HD, courtesy of SuperSport.

Egypt will make their 25th appearance at the Africa Cup of Nations, a record in the history of the competition. They have won the title seven times, achieving back to back wins at  2006, 2008 and  2010 competitions.

At the AFCONs, Nigeria and Egypt have crossed paths 10 times, with the Super Eagles winning on four occasions. Egypt has defeated Nigeria three times, and their last encounter in 2010 went to the Pharaohs (3-1 in the group phase). Three games have ended in draws. The Egyptian team is formidable. Talismans, Mohammed Salah in the form of his life, and will hope to inspire his team to their first AFCON title in 12 years.
