Aiyedatiwa Declared Winner Of Ondo Guber Election

Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, the candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has been declared winner of the Ondo governorship election.

The election took place on Saturday, November 16, 2024.

He was announced as the winner of the contest on Sunday, November 17, 2024.

Aiyedatiwa who succeeded late Oluwarotimi Akeredolu on December 27, 2023 secured 366,781 votes to defeat Agboola Ajayi, his closest challenger and the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) who polled 117,845 votes.

Declaring the result in Akure the State Capital, the Independent National Electoral Commission’s Returning Officer and Vice Chancellor of Federal University, Lokoja, Prof. Akinwumi Olayemi Durotimi said  ” Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa of the APC having satisfied the requirements of the law and scored the highest number of lawful votes cast, is hereby returned elected.”
