Alaafin Reveals Why Oluwo, Oba Abdulrasheed Akanbi Should Never Be Disrespected

Oba Lamidi Adeyemi, the Alaafin of Oyo has given a hint on why Oluwo of Iwoland, Oba Abdulrasheed Adewale Akanbi should never be disrespected.

The respect monarch who said Oba Akanbi is “a true replica of him” maintained there was no time in history that Oluwo was a baale (village head).

Oluwo crown is an ancient one, he further insisted.

The first class traditional ruler reportedly made the comments during a visit to the Iwo palace of Oba Abdulrasheed Akanbi on Friday, October 30, 2020.

Here are Alaafin’s comments as revealed in post on Oba Abdulrasheed Akanbi’s social media handle….

“My first 20yrs on the throne was rough and turbulent than that of Oluwo. It is imperative we imbibe the idea of appointing young ones as kings in Yorubaland. Those enthroned at old age don’t fight to enjoy their reign. I commend the courage of Oluwo. He is a true replica of me. Omo o le jo baba, kama binu omo”

“Equally, Iwo should have been made the capital of Osun if not for certain political manipulation that happened at that time. Oluwo was never a Baale. It is an ancient crown”.

Alaafin during his visit to Oluwo of Iwoland in his Iwo Palace yesterday.
