Emerging details have it that Dapo Abiodun, the governor of Ogun state is neck-deep in a plot.
Societynow.ng gathered that he is plotting a federal appointment for Bimbo Ashiru the former two-term commissioner in Ogun state.
Bimbo Ashiru, a former bank chief was one the early backers of Abiodun’s political ambition despite been a top contender for the governorship position.
Ashiru ran an intimidating gubernatorial election campaign that transformed him into the man to beat by kilometers but he lacked the strong connection within the top hierarchy of the ruling All Progressives Congress that gave the governorship ticket to Dapo Abiodun.
The realist that he is, rather than complain about the cards he was dealt with, Ashiru threw his weight behind Abiodun and worked tirelessly for his emergence as the governor of Ogun state.
Insiders disclosed that Ashiru looked forward to the plum position Secretary to the State Government as a befitting reward for his support but was denied the position. He also failed to make the list of commissioners released by the new Governor.
Ashiru traveled out of the country as talks of “use and dumped” by Abiodun and his crew circulate.
The investigation made by societynow.ng revealed the reason behind the “state of things” between Abiodun and Ashiru.
Societynow.ng gathered that the governor knows that despite working for him, Ashiru has not dispensed with the ambition to become the governor of Ogun state.
The governor has also been fed with talks of the need to keep Ashiru outside of his government, especially the inner circle because of possible leaks.

Insiders disclosed that Abiodun after careful consideration opted to lobby a federal position for Ashiru as compensation for his contribution to the actualization of his ambition.
Abiodun and Ashiru enjoy very good personal relationship that predates politics insiders insist.
