Emerging videos have shown former governor Akinwiunmi Ambode was economical with the truth about what transpired at his home in Epe, Lagos state when operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission came calling on Tuesday, August 20, 2019.

Ambode in a statement released by his image maker Habeeb Haruna claimed that ‘’ “This morning, operatives of Economic and Financial Crimes Commission visited the Epe Country home and Parkview Ikoyi residence of Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode, former Governor of Lagos State, with warrants to conduct a search. These searches were carried out extensively and at the end of the exercise the operatives left without any incident….’

But videos that surfaced show sympathizers of the former governor assaulted and threatened the anti-graft operatives.

Though it is not clear how the “sympathizers” were mobilized to Ambode’s residence – it was apparent the EFCC operatives had it rough.

Ambode who continues to insist on his innocence is undergoing investigation for alleged looting of the public fund as a single term governor of Lagos state.

The agency is said to have blocked Ambode’s access to bank accounts that linked him to the questionable sum of N9billion.

The former governor insists he doesn’t have bank accounts with such fund.
