APC’s Monday Okpebholo Declared Winner Of Edo Guber Election

Monday Okpebholo of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has been winner of the  Saturday, September 21, 2024 gubernatorial election in Edo State.

He was announced as the governor-elect of the South-South State by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Sunday, November 22, 2024.

Okpebholo, 54, polled 291,667 votes to defeat Asue Ighodalo of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) who scored 247,274 votes and Olumide Akpata of the Labour Party (LP) who came a distant third in the race with 22,763 votes.

Fourteen other candidates participated in the governorship contest.

Announcing the winner at exactly 09:27 pm, I lNEC’s returning Officer for the election, Prof Faruk Kuta said; “That Okpebholo Monday of APC having satisfied the requirement of the law is hereby declared the winner and is returned elected.”
