Bimbo Ashiru, the commissioner in the cabinet of Governor of Ogun state, Ibikunle Amosun is about to resign.

Insiders claim Ashiru is preparing to resign within the next two weeks.

His resignation is to enable him to fully face his gubernatorial ambition.

Ashiru is the commissioner in charge of Commerce, Trade and Industry in Governor Amosun’s government.

Though his followers claim he boosted economic activities in the state as a two term commissioner but he lacks support from the Governor to succeed him.

“Ashiru doesn’t have the support of the governor to succeed him because Amosun sees him as too independent minded and opinionated” a source claim.

But Ashiru is pushing headlong in his bid to become governor despite lack of Amosun’s support.

Governor Amosun has publicly pledged to produce his successor from yewa area of Ogun state.

The area is yet to produce a governor since creation of the state.

Ashiru is from Ijebu, the area that has produced Governor of the state multiple times.
Ashiru before his coming resignation had thrown in the towel to pursue his ambition but was prevailed to withdraw his resignation  “for political reasons”.
Those who should know however claim he appears resolute in his planned resignation scheduled for the coming days.

Ashiru is said to be prepared to go all out to achieve his ambition in a make or mar approach whether the governor supports him or not.
