“Bayelsa Expecting More Funds” Diri Tells Visiting House Of Reps Committee On TETFund

Governor of Bayelsa State, Senator Douye Diri today received the Chairman and members of the House of Representatives committee on Tertiary Education Trust Fund at Government House, Yenagoa.

The Governor appreciated the committee for visiting Bayelsa State and assured TETFund committee of the state government’s partnership with the federal government.

“It gives me great joy that we have this very important committee visiting us today.

Please, convey our appreciation to the Speaker of the House of Representatives and management of TETFund.

In Bayelsa State particularly, I am aware that all of the funds that has been allocated to our higher institutions have been utilized. But Bayelsa is expecting more funds”, Gov. Diri said.

In her remarks, the Chairman of the House of Representatives committee on TETFund, Hon. Miriam Odinaka Onuoha said they were in Bayelsa State to measure the level of assessment and compliance of TETFund allocated to Bayelsa State.

Hon. Onuoha commended Bayelsa State for making judicious use of TETFund intervention. Stating that TETFund sponsored projects are in all higher institutions in the state.

She equally praised the governor for his developmental strides in infrastructure.

Other dignitaries at the meeting include; Deputy Governor of Bayelsa State, Senator Lawrence Ewhrujakpo, Hon. Bappa Misau, Deputy Chairman House Committee on TETFund, Hon. Rodney Ambaiowei, Hon. Ali Isah, Hon. Esosa Iyawe, Hon. Emil Inyang, Engr. Ifeanyi Ogbonna, TETFUND Representative, Hon. Charles Daniel, Chairman House of Assembly Committee on Education, Hon. Ebizi Ndiomu-Brown, Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Nimobofa Ayawei, Chief of Staff Government House, Dr. Peter Akpe, the Deputy Chief of Staff, Mr. Irorodamie Komonibo, Commissioners and other top government officials.
