BHM Emerges The Most Nominated PR Agency At 2023 SABRE Awards EMEA

BHM Holdings has earned a staggering 15 nominations at the 19th annual SABRE Awards EMEA, according to a recent announcement from PRovoke Media – the PR industry’s leading source of news, information & intelligence, and organisers of the Award.

This is the company’s third consecutive showing at the prestigious Award ceremony; it has the most nominations for any African company and is the only Nigerian company shortlisted from over two thousand submissions this year.

Recognised as one of the world’s largest and most sought-after public relations awards, SABRE Awards are based on an exhaustive research process and a careful review of the performance of more than 400 firms worldwide.

BHM is a nominee in categories such as SABRE Awards for superior achievement in reputation management, purpose-driven branding, issues and crisis management, word of mouth, sponsorship, and consumer marketing (new product), amongst others, for clients such as MTN Nigeria, Nigerian Breweries and Multichoice.

BHM was also announced as a finalist in the ‘Africa Consultancy of the Year’ category, once again making it the only Nigerian agency in the category, and its third consecutive nod for the coveted award. Other contenders in the categories include regulars: Clockwork, Irvine Partners, Razor and Retrovival (all from South Africa).

“Each of these nominations is as important as winning, considering we are just a little Lagos company trying to give the world an alternative global communications platform – the first from Africa. Still a long journey ahead but we are inspired, encouraged and committed. It is possible,” Ayeni Adekunle, BHM founder and CEO says.

According to an announcement on PRovoke Media’s website, BHM’s continual investment in building out capabilities — in-house content creation, software engineering, media brands, digital analytics and regional advisor among others — paid off in a big way in 2022, when the agency grew 55% into a US$6.2 million business, topping last year’s impressive 37% lift.

In 2022, BHM emerged winners in categories such as the SABRE Award for Superior Achievement in Measurement and Evaluation for its ‘MTN Public Offer’ campaign; Public Affairs/Government Relations for its ‘Stakeholder Engagement’ campaign with MTN Nigeria, and a Certificate of Excellence for its ‘Global Day of Influence (GDI)’ campaign.

The past 24 months have seen BHM record significant milestones. In 2021, the company announced its expansion to London and Edinburgh and by the next year it announced the establishment of operations in Ghana and Kenya, under the auspices of ID Africa.

The 2023 winners of the SABRE Awards categories will be unveiled during the awards ceremony on Thursday, March 23 at the Gesellschaftshaus Palmengarten in Frankfurt, Germany.
