Neoalla Foundation, the brainchild of Loatsad CEO, Seyi Tinubu and his Wife, Layal Tinubu in partnership with Nigeria’s leading Foodbank, FoodClique Support recently reached a key milestone of delivering 300,000meals in their Stronger Together Covid19 Emergency FoodboxInitiative. The initiative has so far delivered over 10,000 foodboxes containing about 30meals per box to the most vulnerable in various areas across Lagos and its environs.Some areatouched include badagry, epe, Ikorodu, mushin, onipanu, Surulere, lekki, jakande, agege, oworonsoki, ojoalaba, gbagada, Yaba, Ebute Metta, Lagos Island amongst others.
Speaking on this milestone, Seyi Tinubu, CEO LoatsadPromoMedia and Chairman of Noella Foundation said that the Emergency Foodbox Initiative was necessary to support ongoing government efforts during this pandemic. According to him, “This joint initiative with Foodclique is part of efforts in line with our adopted SDG Goal of eliminating hunger and we are proud of the work that has got us this far. Aswe hit a milestone of 300,000 meals distributed during this period, I want to acknowledge that not one person can do it alone… We need to come together to support Government efforts aimed at ameliorating the negative impact of the measures put in place to stop the spread of COVID-19. I wish to also commend Mr. Governor, BabajideSanwoolu, the Executive Governor of Lagos for showing leadership during this crisis.”

In his comments, BolajokoFadipe, CEO of Foodclique thanked all the volunteers and partners for their effort in ensuring that fewer people go to bed hungry as a result of this crisis. “We have been able to reach the most vulnerable across the nook and crannies of Lagosand some surrounding states through our extensive network of volunteers and efficient distribution capacity. We also call on well-meaningorganizations and individuals to reach out to us in supporting this efforts so that even more people can be reached. We intend to continue this Stronger Together initiative for as long as the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic remains. The initiative has received commendation and support from many people including the World Boxing Heavyweight champion, Anthony Joshua who called via videocallfrom his base in London to thank foodclique/Noella Foundation volunteers for their work as well as the Lagos State Governor, BabajideSanwoolu who praised the complimentary efforts of the initiative to the state government’s palliative scheme when he spoke to the volunteers. Each of the Emergency Meal Boxes contains up to 30 meals and includes staples from rice, pasta, salt, sugar, garri and semo to other important food items.
