Douye Diri Reelected Governor Of Bayelsa State

Senator Douye Diri has been reelected as the Governor of Bayelsa State.

The gubernatorial election held on Saturday, November 11, 2023.

Governor Diri, who is the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) scored 175,196 votes to trounce his main rival and candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Timpre Sylva who got 110,108 votes.

A breakdown of the result revealed Governor Diri won in six out of eight local government areas in the state. While Timipre Sylva emerged Victorious in two.
