MTV Shuga: Alone Together is telling the story of how different kinds of people across four African countries are coping with the lockdown. We’ll see the stories of the bougie, the broke, and everyone else in between.

In episode four of MTV Shuga: Alone Together, we get to see more of the MTV Shuga cast.

Zamo talks to her cousin, Dineo and opens up about her frustrations. Spoonkie is tired of being cooped up inside and is always getting up to mischief. In fact, we can hear him breaking stuff in the background. Zamo feels mad at Spoonkie, but also feels like a bad mother for having those feelings. Dineo reassures her that she is a great mum.

Zamo asks Dineo if she could loan her money as she had previously agreed to. Dineo says she wouldn’t be able to because Kabelo told her not to. Zamo is surprised at this because Dineo has always been the strong, assertive type.

Dineo tries to explain, but Zamo doesn’t want to hear it. She is running out of food and needs money to feed Spoonkie in the coming week.

Daniel calls Dineo from his house in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire. There is also a lockdown in his country, and only essential movement is allowed. He misses the feeling of having people around him and complains that always being indoors has made him lose track of time.

The episode ends when Dineo has to leave the call because Kabelo needs her suddenly.

Daniel looked a little weird as he ended the call. Does he have a crush on Dineo? Or is he hiding something else?

And Dineo looked a little scared as she ended the call. We hope Kabelo is not abusing her.
