EU Partners With Africa Celebrates 2025

Africa Celebrates, an initiative of Lexy Mojo-Eyes and its partners are proud to announce the partnership of the European Union, represented by the EU Delegation to the African Union, with Africa Celebrates 2025. This partnership further strengthens the already reliable and long-term relationship between Africa and Europe.

According to H.E. Ambassador Javier Niño Pérez who leads the EU Delegation to the AU, ‘’to celebrate and advance African talent and opportunities is what my team does daily. It is, therefore, natural for us to collaborate with Africa Celebrates in 2025, in this pivotal year that marks the 25th anniversary of the EU-AU partnership (#AUEU25)’’. In the lead-up to the 7th AU-EU Summit on 24-25 November in Luanda, Angola – where we will count with the active participation of African and European heads of state, but also business, youth and civil society -, the leadership of both AU and EU and around 80 governments at Ministerial level met in Brussels on May 21st, taking stock of how we are implementing the AU-EU Joint Vision for 2030 aligned with the Africa Agenda 2063 and the EU’s political priorities.

The EU is a partner Africa can rely on and remains by far Africa’s major partner both at continental and national levels: Africa’s first trading partner, first investor, first Official Development Assistance (ODA) provider, first humanitarian donor and AU’s first partner, namely on peace and security. Africa and Europe’s prosperity are inter-twinned. Nearly €150 billion in investment under the Global Gateway Africa – Europe Investment Package are being delivered to enhance infrastructure, digital connectivity and green transitions all across Africa, to boost clean and secure energy and transportation, and to strengthen health, education and research (report available here, a factsheet with flagship projects here). Lastly, EU Ambassador Javier Niño Pérez wishes us to “keep connecting, listening to each other’s, harvesting prospects and celebrating together”.

Africa Celebrates which is the biggest Pan African event in the world is packaged and organized by Legendary Gold Limited and its Ethiopian event partner, Afronova in collaboration with the African Union Commission, United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA), Embassies of Nigeria, Burundi and Cote d’Ivoire in Ethiopia, the US Mission to the AU and the Ethiopian Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Tourism, and now as well, the EU Delegation to the AU.
