The defections of the former Speaker of the house of Representatives, Dimeji Bankole and Otunba Gbenga Daniel have been finalised.

Daniel and Bankole -both from Ogun State – were members of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) until the recent development.

While Otunba Daniel served as two-term governor of Ogun State – between 2003 and 2011, Dimeji Bankole was in office as speaker of the lower chamber of the national assembly from November 1 2007 to 29 May 2011.

Checks by highstreet revealed their defections to ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) was sealed with a meeting President Muhammadu Buhari at the Aso Rock (Presidential) Villa today, March 22, 2021.

The meeting with the President was reportedly facilitated by the governor of Yobe State, Mai Mala Buni who currently doubled as the Chairman Caretaker Committee of the APC.
