Ex-Minister Ochekpe, Two Others Jailed For N450m Fraud

Sarah Ochekpe, a former Minister of Water Resources, has been sent to jail.

She was handed a three-month term today Tuesday, February 22, 2022 by a Federal High Court sitting in Jos, Plateau State.

Mrs Ochekpe, who served as minister in the administration of former President Goodluck Jonathan, was sentenced alongside a former chairman of the People Democratic Party in Plateau state, Raymond Dabo, and the Plateau State Coordinator of Jonathan Campaign Organization, Leo-Sunday Jitong.

The convicted individuals had been standing trial since 2018 when they were arraigned by Economic and Financial Crimes Commission in case of money laundering and conspiracy totalling over N450. million.
