Flawsome – Showmax’s New Series – Kicks Off To An Exciting Start
The first episode of Showmax’s newest original drama series, Flawsome, premiered on Thursday 10 November, and things are off to an exciting start.
The opening scenes threw the first curve ball of emotions as Ramat consoled a sex-trafficked teenager whose ‘madam’ offers her to at least one man every night. We moved on to Ifeyinwa, who kickstarted the plan to transition her father’s company from electronics to tech.
Ifeyinwa might be successful in her plans only if the company’s board of directors would look past their chauvinistic views and elect her as the CEO.
The second scene showed Ivie, the fashion intern, dealing with her boss and her impossible rules of arriving by 8 am and closing at 8 pm. For the almighty fashion designer, Lerato, it’s only right for Ivie to spend 12 hours at work while attending to her other demands, just as she did during her learning days under Versace.
Nothing is worse than one’s former best friend turning into an arch-enemy, and Dolapo is currently living that nightmare. Her nemesis, Ranti, is very determined to ruin her client’s reputation and blow her PR plans of getting him re-elected into smithereens.
The PR guru has a massive disaster on her hands following a leaked video of her convincing the cheating senator’s wife to deny her husband’s scandal in a media interview. We can only wonder how she will play the footage off.
At the end of the episode, it is apparent that Ramat might have bitten more than her saviour complex could chew. She might also have enough time to rethink her action of going undercover to penetrate Madam Rose’s place after getting arrested for trespassing and harassment.
At the end of the first episode, it’s clear that all the ladies have real fights ahead of them. The drama is just getting started, and we are ready for it. We can’t wait to see how each woman faces the issues in their personal and career lives, and we are rooting for them.
