Football fans in Lagos were once again, on the 1st and 2nd of October, 2019, treated to nights of thrilling football action at the Heineken House, Ikoyi, Lagos.

As part of the country’s independence celebration, the venue was transformed into a green haven with different rooms simultaneously broadcasting UEFA Champions League matches.

The Barcelona vs Inter Milan match has been one of the most anticipated clashes this Champions League week. Due to the prevalence of Barcelona, Real Madrid and Chelsea fans in Nigeria, the Heineken House was, on both days, filled with excited fans who were convinced that the matches were better watched together. The visibly excited fans trooped to the Heineken House to watch their favourite teams play.

As is usual tradition at all Heineken viewing experiences, the night began with guests playing video games and table soccer ahead of kickoff. Others gathered in groups at various parts of the classy venue, chatting over cold glasses of Heineken and discussing their expectations for the night.

Speaking on Heineken giving UCL football fans the best viewing experience, the Senior Brand Manager, Heineken, Mfon Bassey said;

“The UCL is an exciting time for any football lover. Having to watch your favourite teams play in the company of fellow football lovers is a gift that Heineken prides itself in giving its consumers.

Heineken has been an integral partner of the UEFA Champions league for over 20 years. As a consumer-focused brand, we will continue to enrich fans’ experiences of football by creating avenues for our consumers to experience the UEFA Champions League in the best possible way.”

Heineken’s illustrious 25-year relationship with UEFA has seen the brand become one of the headline sponsors of the annual competition, and this season Heineken is hosting Nigerian football fans to exclusive viewing experiences at the Heineken House.
