Former Nigerian Leader Shonekan Is Dead

The former head of the Interim National Government, Chief Ernest Shonekan is dead.

He reportedly breathed his last today, January 11, 2022 at the age of 85.

Lagos State is said to be the place of death the title holder of Abese of Egbaland who succeeded military President Ibrahim Babangida.

Chief Shonekan was in charge between August 26 and November 17, 1993 when his reign was truncated in a coup led by late General Sani Abacha.

General Abacha was Secretary of Defence at the time.
