Globacom’s international submarine cable, Glo 1 has achieved an impressive milestone of eight years of uninterrupted connectivity. The facility has, since 2016, maintained a flawless operational record, ensuring seamless internet access for individual and corporate customers.
 
Notably, during the widespread internet disruptions in March this year, caused by cuts to other submarine cables in Nigeria and West Africa, Glo 1 remained unaffected and continued to operate normally with financial institutions, internet service providers, and data consumers powered by Glo 1 all running without hitch. This resilience, according to industry experts is due to the facility’s robust construction and durability.
 
To further enhance its capabilities, Globacom has upgraded the Glo 1 submarine fiber cable infrastructure, maximizing its utilization and service delivery.
 
Glo 1 boasts of direct connection to London with the lowest latency, guaranteeing ultra-fast and reliable internet connectivity. This upgrade complements Globacom’s ongoing network expansions and upgrades, ensuring a unique calling and browsing experience for its customers.
