Gov Adeleke Expresses Sadness Over UNIOSUN Student’s Death

Governor Ademola Adeleke has expressed profound sadness over the unfortunate death of Ms. Osunlakin Grace, a 400-Level Criminology and Security Studies student of Osun State University (UNIOSUN), Ifetedo Campus, describing the incident as painful and deeply heartbreaking.

The Governor extend his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family, the Governing Council, management, staff and students of Osun State University, particularly the Ifetedo Campus community, praying that Almighty God grants the family and the entire university community the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.

Governor Adeleke called on students and members of the public to remain calm, peaceful and law-abiding while the relevant authorities continue to review the circumstances surrounding the unfortunate incident. He urged all stakeholders to avoid actions or statements capable of escalating tension, assuring that the state government will continue to place the safety and welfare of students as a top priority.

The Governor further directed that the Ministry of Education, in collaboration with the management of Osun State University, immediately engage in a comprehensive review of healthcare service delivery across all university campuses with a view to strengthening emergency response mechanisms, improving medical facilities and ensuring that students have timely access to quality healthcare whenever the need arises.

Governor Adeleke prayed for the peaceful repose of the soul of the departed student and reaffirmed his administration’s unwavering commitment to providing an enabling environment for quality education, student welfare and effective healthcare services across all state-owned tertiary institutions.
