Governor Rotimi Akeredolu has ordered closure of borders of all states that share boundaries with Ondo State.
The affected states are Ekiti, Osun, Kogi, Edo and Ogun states.
The order takes effect immediately.
Mr Akeredolu gave the order today, Wednesday, April 1, 2020.
The governor also declared a 3-day period of fasting and prayers to seek the face of God in this trying period.
The fasting and prayer holds between Thursday,April 2 and Saturday, April 4, 2020.
Governor Akeredolu’s statement via Facebook reads…
“In response to the trend in the number of cases around Ondo State, I have ordered the immediate closure of our borders with the neighbouring states of Ekiti, Osun, Kogi, Edo and in particular Elefon, our coastal boundary with Ogun State.
As a way of thanking God and seeking His face for this immeasurable Grace and continuous Favour, government hereby declares a 3-day period of fasting and prayers commencing from Thursday, 2nd to Saturday, 4th April for Ondo State.”
