Gov Bago Assures Security Agencies Of Support For Rescue Of Niger Catholic School Kidnapped Victims
Niger State Governor, farmer Mohammed Umaru Bago, has commended the Nigeria Police Force and other security agencies for their swift response to the kidnap incident at St. Mary’s Catholic Primary and Secondary Schools in Papiri, Agwara Local Government Area of the state.
He made the commendation when the Assistant Inspector General of police (AIG) Zone 7, Victor Olaiya, paid a sympathy visit to him at the government house, Minna, over the recent kidnapping of school children in Papiri, Agwara local government.
The farmer governor affirmed the state government’s willingness to provide all the necessary support that would lead to the safe rescue of the kidnapped victims.
He maintained that the protection of lives and property of the citizenry remains the primary responsibility of government.
The AIG Zone 7 Headquarters, Abuja, Victor Olaiya, explained that his visit was on behalf of the Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, over the kidnap incident, which he described as unfortunate.
He assured that more measures are in place to aid in the rescue operations in addition to the deployment of more tactical teams.
The AIG enjoined the people of the state to give maximum support to the security agencies to ensure a successful and seamless rescue exercise.
