Gov Bago Boosts Fight Against Crime In Niger With Provision Of Operation Vehicles

Niger State Governor Farmer Mohammed Umaru Bago has inaugurated 12 Hilux vehicles to boost security in the state.

The Farmer Governor inaugurated the vehicles at the police headquarters in Minna.

He said the vehicles were part of his administration’s routine support to boost security operations and the morale of the  personnel.

The Farmer Governor who appreciated the efforts of the police and other security agencies in fighting insecurity in the state, assured of his unwavering commitment to supporting them.

The Commissioner of Police, Niger State command, Adamu Abdullahi Elleman, thanked the Niger state Governor for his sustained support to security agencies in the state.

“This is not the first time the governor has given us logistics and other support, and we are not taking it for granted.”

Elleman assured that the vehicles will be utilised for effective security operations.

The commissioner of police said the command had established a Violent Crime Response Unit (VCRU) with 218 trained personnel to tackle all forms of heinous crimes in the state, ranging from banditry, robbery and kidnapping to rape among others.

He assured that with the training given to VCRU personnel, the crime rate will reduce in the state.
