Gov-Elect Adeleke Is PDP Candidate In Osun, Supreme Court Rules

Ademola Adeleke is the authentic candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party in the just concluded Osun State governorship election, the Supreme Court has ruled.

The supreme court today, September 29, threw out a suit challenging the authenticity of candidacy of Adeleke in the Osun State governorship election.

Adeleke is the governor-elect of Osun State.

The gubernatorial election that saw him defeating incumbent Governor Adegboye Oyetola held on July 16, 2022.

The suit against Mr Adeleke’s candidacy was instituted by a PDP governorship aspirant, Dotun Babayemi.

Justice Amina Augie led five-man threw out Mr Babayemi’s suit on the ground that the apex court lacked jurisdiction to entertain the appeal, as the plaintiff filed his appeal out of time.
