Gov Eno Tasks Nigerians To Build Bridges Of Love, Peace

As Christians, and the world, prepare to celebrate this year’s Christmas, Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, has urged Nigerians, and Akwa Ibom people in particular, to endeavour to build bridges of love and peace which characterises the season.

Speaking at the December Edition of the Akwa Ibom State Government House Monthly Covenant Service, held at the Banquet Hall, he noted that the First Family was overwhelmed with the outpouring of love from Akwa Ibomites, Nigerians and from those in the diaspora over the demise of his wife, the First Lady, Pastor (Mrs) Patience Umo Eno.

He noted that if the kind of love shown the family during the home going ceremonies of the First Lady could be replicated in other State matters, nothing would be impossible to overcome in the coming years.

Governor Eno appreciated everyone for identifying with the First Family, and  for their prayers and support, saying that such demonstration of love places a huge burden on his shoulders for greater service to the people of the State.

He assured that the government under his leadership was determined to diligently serve the people adding, “We will continue to serve this State with all of the things that God has given us.”

Governor Eno advised everyone, irrespective of social standing, to spread love within their environment, and make people around them to feel the impact of God’s blessings in their lives.

While praying for more blessings upon the State, especially in the new month, he appreciated everyone who attended, for their sacrifices, and assured that God, through prayers of the faithful shall continue to bless the State.

In a short remark, the National Woman Leader of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Mrs Amina Arong, said she was blessed to be part of the covenant service, adding that she was in the State to identify with the First Family and the State in general over the demise of the First Lady.

She assured that her office and the women of the party will continue to partner with the office of the First Lady through the Coordinator of the Office, Mrs Helen Eno Obareki,  to further on the impactful strides of her pet project, the Golden Initiative For All (GIFA).

Earlier, in his homily, Apostle Gboyega Shitta of Kingdom Power Ministries International, harped on the imperative of peace among men, and especially Christians.

Speaking on the theme, “Peace and Holiness with All Men” taken from the Bible book of Matthew 1:23, he made reference to Abraham as a model of peaceful coexistence, adding that a peaceful life is rich because it has spiritual and physical benefits.
