Gov Eno Visits Bereaved Aide, Eyo, Over Father’s Demise
The Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno,PhD, has paid a condolence visit to his aide, Engr. Solomon Eyo, following the death of his father, Evangelist Daniel Sampson Eyo at the age of 70.
The Governor’s sympathy was conveyed through his Special Assistant on Humanitarian Affairs, Elder Nsikanabasi Umoekpo, accompanied by the Senior Special Assistant on Research and Documentation, Dr. Essien Ndueso.
Elder Umoekpo held that the Governor who cherishes Mr Eyo, his Special Assistant on Multimedia and Website Management, asked him to personally come to convey the condolences to the bereaved family.
He urged Solomon Eyo and his family to remain strong and united in the face of their loss, emphasizing that the governor stands with his aides and citizens alike in moments of grief.
Elder Umoekpo assured the family that Governor Eno shares in their pain and remains committed to their well-being, describing the visit as a demonstration of the governor’s compassionate and people-centered leadership.
“The Governor holds Solomon Eyo dearly at heart. This is one man who has never been found wanting.
“Even in challenging situations he always delivers on his work. That is why the Governor asked me to come on his behalf and pray with the family”
Responding on behalf of the family, Solomon Eyo expressed deep appreciation to the governor for the gesture, noting that the visit has brought comfort during a difficult time.
“On behalf of my family, we thank His Excellency for reaching out through his representatives. We feel loved and welcomed, and we do not take this visit for granted”.
He described the Governor as a leader with compassion and accessibility, insisting he was a dependable father who remains responsive to the needs of his people.
Solomon Eyo who expressed regrets that his father left when his warmth was still highly sought, described him as a compassionate and committed community leader.
He announced that a night of tributes will take place on Friday, February 20, followed by the funeral service on February 21, at Mbierebe Akpawat, Ibesikpo Asutan local government area, and invited all to honor the life of the late patriarch.
In attendance were members of Engr Solomon Eyo’s family, including his wife, uncles, and siblings.
