Gov Hope Uzodimma Imo State Wins Reelection

The Governor of Imo State and candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Hope Uzodimma has been reelected.

The governorship election held yesterday, November 11, 2023 across all the 27 Local Government Areas in the state.

The state Returning Officer for the election, Prof. Abayomi Fasina, who is also the Vice-Chancellor, Federal University, Oye-Ekiti, Ekiti State, declared him the winner on Sunday morning at INEC’s state collation centre in Owerri, the state capital.

He polled 540,308 votes to defeat Samuel Ayanwu of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Athan Achonu of the Labour Party. His two main challengers secured distance second and third positions with 71,503 votes and 64,081 votes respectively.
