Gov Makinde’s Deputy Olaniyan Impeached

The Deputy Governor of Oyo State, Rauf Olaniyan has been impeached by the state house of assembly.

His impeachment came to be today, July 18, 2022.

The development followed the adoption of an investigative panel put in place by the Oyo State Chief Judge, Munta Abimbola to look into various allegations against his person.

The report of the investigative panel that recommended Mr Olaniyan for impeachment was reportedly read by the Leader of the house, Sanjo Adedoyin.

Olaniyan, who has been engaged in a running battle with his estranged boss, Governor Seyi Makinde and recently moved to the opposition All Progressives Congress, was accused of gross misconduct and other impeachable offences.
