Gov Oyetola Inaugurates Osun Ease Of Doing Business Council
Governor, State of Osun, Mr Adegboyega Oyetola , has declared Osun as a foremost destination for thriving business and conducive economic environment.
He, explained that the resolve of his Administration since assumption of office, to commit total attention to building an economy that is virile and fully supportive of the ambition and investment of entrepreneurs has helped the state in no small way.
The Governor, stated this in Osogbo, the Osun State capital on Tuesday, while inaugurating the Osun Ease of Doing Business Council.
Oyetola, who was represented by his Deputy, Mr Benedict Alabi, noted that the conviction of his government on the need for functional economic model for speedy growth and development necessitated the Osun Economic and investment Summit organized within the first year of his Administration, as well as the establishment of Osun Investment and Promotion Agency (OSIPA).
According to him, the inauguration of the Council was another step towards stimulating the business environment in Osun and facilitating an enduring regulatory framework that will eliminate hitches often encountered by investors in the state.
Governor Oyetola added that he expected the Council to initiate requisite reforms and recommend appropriate strategic actions to reduce any form of bureaucratic impediments to doing business and to promote a friendly business environment in Osun.
In his words, “As you all know, since our assumption of office, we have consistently devoted time and energy to building an economy that is virile and fully supportive of the ambition and investment of our entrepreneurs.
“Our Administration has also prioritised patronage of local businesses in our determined effort to support the growth of indigenous investments.
“As a council, I expect you to initiate requisite reforms and recommend appropriate strategic actions to reduce any form of bureaucratic impediments to doing business, and to promote a friendly business environment in the State”.
Speaking at the inauguration, the Special Adviser to President Muhammadu Buhari on Ease of Doing Business, who doubles as the Secretary, Presidential Enabling Business Environment Council, Dr. Jumoke Oduwole, said that Osun has continued to occupy a central position among the South Western States of Nigeria in the area of providing suitable and favourable business environment for entrepreneurs.
She reiterated the commitment of Buhari-led administration to ease of doing business in the country, for the purpose of attracting foreign and local investors, with resultant growth in Gross Domestic Product(GDP).
Oduwole, expressed readiness of the Federal Government to collaborate with Osun in it’s quest to build investment-driven economy.
Meanwhile, the newly inaugurated Osun State Ease of Doing Business Council has Governor Adegboyega Oyetola as Chairman and the Special Adviser and CEO of OSIPA, Mr Femi Adeniran, as Secretary.
Other members of the council include the State Head of Service, Commissioners for Budget and Economic planning, Justice and Attorney General, Finance, Commerce, Cooperative and Industry, Lands and Physical Planning, as well as representatives of the Private Sector in the state.
