Gov Sanwo-Olu Prays For Mohammed Fawehinmi’s Soul

The governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu has rendered a prayer of rest for the soul of Mohammed Fawehinmi, the deceased son of late legal luminary, Gani Fawehinmi.

Mohammed Fawehinmi, a lawyer like his father, gave up the ghost yesterday, August 11, 2021.

In message of condolence to the family, friends and associates as well as the government and people of Ondo State, Governor Sanwo-Olu, who expressed deep sadness over the development, prayed to the Almighty God to grant Mohammed eternal rest.

Mr Sanwo-Olu’s reaction to the sad exit of the younger Fawehinmi was via his Facebook handle on Thursday, August 12, 2021.

The reaction where the governor also described the deceased as a “passionate human rights activist and champion of a true Nigeria”

It is with a deep sense of sorrow that I commiserate with the family, friends and associates of the Late Mohammed Fawehinmi and the government and people of Ondo State on the passing of an illustrious son.

Mohammed was undoubtedly a great Nigerian, passionate human rights activist and champion of a true Nigeria.

As a civil rights activist, he spent his life in the service of humanity and particularly for the emancipation of the Nigerian people. He was as consistent as his father, the late Chief Gani Fawehinmi. He kept the flame of his father burning by fighting for the masses.

On behalf of my family and the people of Lagos State, I express my heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, associates and members of the Civil Society Organisations in Nigeria.

I pray that God will grant Mohammed eternal rest and give the immediate family and friends the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
