Here Are The Top Three Secondary Schools In ASAP Anti-Substance Quiz Competition

Three schools, Funtaj International School Abuja, Intelligence Quotient Academy, Abuja and Government Secondary School (GSS) Ilorin have emerged finalists in the MTN Anti Substance Abuse Programme (ASAP) Quiz Competition for secondary school students.

These three schools will participate in the grand final of the competition scheduled to hold on June 14, 2022, after which the winner will be announced during the ASAP National Conference on June 26, 2022.

The MTN ASAP Quiz Competition is part of the MTN Foundation’s strategies aimed at increasing awareness of substance abuse and addiction among youths. The goal of the programme is to discourage first-time usage and casual substance misuse among secondary school students across the country.

Odunayo Sanya, Executive Secretary of the MTN Foundation and a speaker at the competition, emphasized the significance of drug misuse prevention and MTN’s involvement in the scheme. She said:

“Some of the objectives why MTN Foundation and NDLEA decided to organise this quiz competition is to deepen and broaden awareness of substance abuse, especially among secondary school students, as well as assess the level of awareness and knowledge of substance abuse among secondary school students.

The unique thing about all of you participating in the quiz is that you have all become ASAP ambassadors and we expect that you will take the ASAP message back to your classrooms, homes and communities. We expect you to spread the message that we are all better off when we don’t touch drugs and stay away from negative peer influence. You all have been promoted to ASAP ambassadors today and we hope to continue to hear great things from you.

At MTN, we are committed to moving Nigeria forward. We are committed to the Nigerian youth and their dreams and we will continue to do a full load of things for our youths at different levels.”
