Highlights As The Macallan Partners WIMBIZ For 2024 Annual Conference

World-renowned Scottish whisky brand, The Macallan, has partnered with Women in Management, Business and Public Service (WIMBIZ) for their 2024 annual conference which was held on Thursday, November 7, and Friday, November 8, at the Eko Hotel & Suites in Victoria Island, Lagos.

WIMBIZ, a Nigerian non-profit organisation dedicated to empowering women in business, leadership, and public service, has grown to become one of the most influential platforms for fostering discussions around gender equality, economic empowerment, and leadership in Nigeria. By partnering with WIMBIZ, The Macallan aligns itself with these critical conversations, highlighting its dedication to supporting impactful programs that drive lasting societal change.

The conference had in attendance Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, Immediate Past Vice President of Nigeria; Prof. Folasade Ogunsola, Vice Chancellor, University of Lagos ; Prof. Aisha Sani Maikudi, Acting Vice Chancellor, University of Abuja; Jadesola Osiberu, Nigerian Writer, Director & Founder, Greoh Studios; Mary Remmy Njoku, CEO, ROK Studios;  and Vincent Egbe, MD, GB Foods Africa-Nigeria, among other notable personalities featured plenary sessions, where topics such as gender equality, leadership challenges, overcoming emotional hurdles, and sustainable business practices were discussed. These panel discussions reflect The Macallan’s belief in advancing critical conversations around societal issues, focusing on creating meaningful change.

In addition to plenary sessions, the conference included workshops on personal growth, business expansion, a business pitch competition, the Female Achievers Awards, debates, networking, and exhibition opportunities.
