Former senator Buruji Kashamu is the individual behind the present ordeal of billionaire lotto merchant, Kessington Adebutu, information available to highstreet.ng has revealed.

The billionaire businessman and his business, Premier lotto are currently subjects of investigation by the Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC).

The wealthy man is being investigated for multi-billion naira tax fraud.

The development according to information earned one of Chief Adebutu’s children, Segun Adebutu arrest and hours of questioning by the Ibrahim Magu led anti-graft commission.

The ugly development the billionaire would have preferred to be far from public space is at the instance of a petition by another player in the lotto industry, former senator Buruji Kashamu.

Buruji Kashamu’s lottery company is called Western Lotto.

Kashamu’s petition, reportedly written in December 2019, requested the EFCC to investigate Adebutu’s Premier Lotto for economic sabotage and multi-billion naira tax fraud.

Interestingly, Kashamu and Ladi Adebutu – the politician son of Chief Kessington Adebutu – are arch political rivals.

As a matter of fact, their rivalry which resulted in a series of court cases largely contributed to the disgraceful defeat suffered by Peoples Democratic Party in Ogun State during the 2019 general elections.

And when many believe the rift between the duo has gone the election, Kushamu has yet kick-started another round of battle but this time with Ladi’s father, Sir Kessington Adebutu.
