How Failure To Fully Refund Proceed Of Fraud Put Woman Wailing In Viral In Trouble With EFCC
Behind the scene details have surfaced in the case of Nora Olumide Johnson, the Sierra Leonean woman seen wailing in a video that has now gone viral.
Mrs. Johnson is being prosecuted by the Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC) for fleecing her employer of an approximate sum of N1 billion (one billion Naira).
She reportedly carried out the crime against her employer in connivance with Messrs Babajide Aremu Johnson, Olabose Ibrahim Falobi, Steve Nnamdi Izebu, Steve Ibem, and Bakoliza Limited.
They are accused of “inflating air ticket fares and over-invoicing on purchases of vehicles”.
The EFCC is said to have, before the recent occurrence, recovered the sum of N507m from Nora Johnson and her accomplices.
Sources claim “Nora Johnson refunded N100m on account of her involvement in the fraud to the EFCC, some of the conspirators in the years-long racket refunded N400m, another accused person refunded N7m on behalf of Nora Johnson”.
Mrs. Johnson’s predicament reportedly started when she “reneged on paying the expected balance,” a source said.
This development led to the taking over of her properties and bank accounts following an order of a Lagos Division Federal High Court Presided over by Justice A. Lewis Allagoa.
Interestingly Mrs. Johnson’s co-conspirators were not spared in the federal high court pronouncement.
