How Reps Member Rotimi Agunsoye Shut Down Kosofe With Launch Of Tinubu Support Group
Commercial and other related activities were almost brought to a standstill in Kosofe Federal Constituency on Thursday when the lawmaker representing the Constituency at the National Assembly Hon. (Prince) Rotimi Agunsoye, led other chieftains of All Progressives Congress to launch the Tinubu Support Group (TSG) in the area.
The Kosofe Federal Constituency chapter of the group was launched on Thursday before a mammoth crowd at Emmanuel High Street Ojota as thousands of Party faithful, artisans, religious groups, market women, non-indigenes, youth and women thronged the venue of the event to show their support for the national leader of APC Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
The Support Group was initiated by APC Caucus of the federal House of representatives to provide a solid support base for the actualisation of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s presidential ambition.
With the official launching of the organisation on Thursday, Hon. Rotimi Agunsoye became the first House of representatives member to launch the group in his constituency after its general launching in Abuja in February.
At about 9 AM, the venue of the inauguration had already been filled up with a forest of Party loyalists donning lemon T-shirts and caps while the atmosphere was colourful and electric.
It was a carnival-like gathering as guests were treated to delightful music and beats.
The convener of the support group, Hon. Agunsoye in his keynote address intimated that the purpose of the gathering was to launch a political support group to actualize the presidential ambition of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
He explained that Tinubu Support Group (TSG) was the initiative of the APC Caucus of federal House of representatives having its presence In 360 Federal Constituencies.
While taking the gathering back on memory lane on the great accomplishments and successes of the national leader when he was governor of Lagos State and how he was able to transform and change the fortune of the state, he stressed that the country needed the magic wand of the national leader to change the fortune of the country.
He, therefore, appealed to the gathering to mobilize and propagate the gospel of Asiwaju Tinubu for President to ensure a massive victory in 2023.
He said: “Asiwaju belongs to that class of rare-breed politicians whose political clout and influence transcend their days at the corridors of power. He is the only member of the 1999 Class of Governors who remains relevant in the scheme of things till date. According to Henry Wadsworth Longfellow: The height reached and kept by great men were not attained by sudden flight but they, while their compatriots slept, were toiling upward in the night.’ No doubt, Asiwaju’s political trajectory came by dint of hard work coupled with the patience of a man with a goal in mind. From the status of the last man standing upon leaving office in 2007, he went on to become the strong man of South-West politics as he gradually reclaimed the stolen mandates of protégées from then ruling People’s Democratic Party.
“This success was to be the launchpad of his foray into a much larger political stage and the coming into mainstream politics of the South West region when he championed the merger of the four main opposition parties into the All Progressives Congress (APC). Asiwaju was the one who engineered the emergence of APC as the winner of both the 2015 and 2019 Presidential Elections. He again was the unseen hand behind the party’s breakthrough of a clear majority in both chambers of the National Assembly after the Bukola Saraki debacle of 2015. In coming this far, Asiwaju, unfortunately, has always had to sacrifice his political ambitions in the overriding interest of the party all through the metamorphosis from Alliance for Democracy (AD) through Action Congress (AC) to Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) and finally All Progressives Congress (APC).
“Having paid his dues as a democrat who fought alongside other NADECO heroes for the democracy we enjoy and later as a founding member who has ever stood by it through thick and thin, he deserves the reward of a loyal party man. Not just because he is presidential material but also because he is the most qualified, most prepaid and is the only one with enough political clout for the job. Ladies and Gentlemen, at this critical moment of our nationhood, we need the Midas touch of the miracle worker who worked his magic in Lagos to help turn the fortunes of Nigeria around. Assuredly, this detribalized leader will run an inclusive government of national unity peopled with talents handpicked on merit regardless of ethnicity, religious differences and political affiliations.

The launching was graced by GAC members, Senator Anthony Adefuye, Chief Baamu, Chief Wale Edu, Senator Adeseye Ogunlewe, Barrister Moyosore Ogunlewe, Alhaji Musiliu Aigoro, Hon. Adebayo Busayo among others.
