“I Don’t Take This Lightly” – Hamzat Reacts To Governor Sanwo-Olu’s Endorsement
Lagos State Deputy Governor, Dr. Obafemi Hamzat, has officially reacted to the endorsement of his gubernatorial ambition by his principal, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu.
The news was first shared by the Lagos State Commissioner for Information, Gbenga Omotoso, via a Facebook post. Accompanied by a video, the post revealed that Governor Sanwo-Olu had formally dubbed his lieutenant “the best man for the job.”
The endorsement took place at the State House in the presence of select government officials.
Describing the development as a profound honor, Hamzat expressed his gratitude for the Governor’s trust.

“I am honored by the endorsement of my Governor, my brother, and my friend, HE Babajide Sanwo-Olu,” Hamzat stated. “His trust means a great deal to me. We have worked side by side in the service of Lagos State, and I do not take this vote of confidence lightly.”
He reaffirmed his dedication to the state’s vision, adding: “I remain committed to building on the progress we’ve made together. I look forward to continuing to serve Lagosians with integrity, focus, and a clear sense of purpose.”
