I will Be Rivers Gov In 2023, Billionaire Tonye Cole Declares

Tonye Cole, the gubernatorial candidate of All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers State, has once again said that he will be governor of the state in 2023.

Tonye, the cofounder of energy company, Sahara Group, made the declaration in response to a court judgment that nullified all the primary elections conducted by the APC in Rivers State.

The general elections are scheduled to hold in 2023.

Mr. Cole who insisted that there should be no case against his candidature on the ground that the individuals who instituted the case were never members of the APC, has a major challenger in Siminalayi Fubara, the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) backed by the incumbent governor, Nyesom Wike.

“There should be no case, because the people who filed the case were not members of APC at the time they filed it, and they are not members today”, the wealthy politician said in a Facebook post.

Re-echoing his belief in the judiciary while reassuring his followers, the flagbearer who suffered a similar fate during the 2019 governorship election declared “I believe in our judiciary system, Justice will prevail. We are still on the ballot, and will be on the ballot in 2023. Be rest assured, I will be your Governor, come May 2023, by God’s grace.”
