Niger Govt Receives 100 Rescued Catholic School Children

Niger State Government has received the 100 rescued school children of St. Mary Catholic schools Papiri Agwara local government area of the state.

The National Security Adviser NSA, Nuhu Ribadu who was represented by Wing Commander Abdullahi handed over the children to the Governor at the government house in Minna.

He said the rescue followed an intense and coordinated operations by the office of the NSA, Department of State Security Services, the Armed forces, and other security agencies were over the past two weeks.

The NSA reaffirmed his commitment to continue to lead and ensure the protection of all communities and institutions across the country.

“we are implementing immediate short-term protective measures in high-risk areas, while concurrently working with State government, traditional and religious leaders, to develop lasting community-based security solutions.”

“We will continue to pursue policies and operations that restore confidence, reopen schools safely, and ensure that every Nigerian child has the right to learn in safety.”

Farmer governor Umaru Bago appreciated President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the National Security Adviser, all the security agencies and other critical stakeholders for their efforts towards the rescue of 100 school children.

He assured the parents that the state government will sustain collaboration with the federal government and other relevant authorities to ensure the remaining children are rescued safely.

The farmer governor said the children would be reunited with their families after medical examination.
