Nigerian Army Gifts Kogi Community Model Health Care Facility

The Nigerian Army (NA) has officially donated a newly constructed and fully equipped model Primary Health Care (PHC) facility to the Oziokutu-Ogaminana community in the Adavi Local Government Area (LGA) of Kogi State. In addition to the new facility, the NA has renovated existing buildings, constructed a perimeter fence, and provided sanitation improvements, including a borehole for clean water and solar-powered lights for enhanced security at the center.

This project falls under the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Lt Gen Taoreed Lagbaja, Special Intervention Civil-Military Cooperation (CIMIC) initiatives, executed by one of the community’s distinguished sons, Major General Usman Tahiru Otaru, who serves as the Deputy Chief of Policy and Plans at Army Headquarters.
Represented by the General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the 2 Division, NA Major General Obinna Onubogu, The COAS commended the community for their cooperation and the significant turnout for the occasion. He expressed gratitude to Governor Ahmed Ododo for his ongoing support of the NA and other security agencies in the state.

In his remarks, Governor Ahmed Ododo praised the COAS and Maj Gen Otaru for their contributions to the health and well-being of the state’s residents. The Governor, represented by the State Security Adviser, Commodore Jerry Omodara (rtd), further commended the COAS for ongoing clearance operations that have successfully neutralized numerous bandits and apprehended various criminal elements in Kogi State, particularly in the Kogi West senatorial district.

Additionally, Major General N C Ugbo, Chief of Civil-Military Affairs at Army Headquarters, emphasized the NA’s commitment to fostering strong relationships with the civilian population. The event was also attended by several dignitaries, including Commander of the 12 Brigade NA Brigadier General Oluremi Fadairo, the Ohinoyi of Ebiraland, HRM Ahmed Tijani-Anaje, and numerous other traditional rulers from the region.
