The Oluwo of Iwo land, Oba Abdulrasheed Akanbi, was denied entry to the VIP area of the Eagle Square, venue of the Democracy Day celebration in Abuja on Wednesday.

Plain-clothed security men positioned at the VIP entrance at the venue accused the first class monarch of possessing someone else’s invitation card.

Despite his vehement protest, he was told to move away from the entrance and kept on the red carpet for about 20 minutes.

It took the intervention of policemen and organisers to ensure his entrance into the venue after which he was offered a seat on the same line where the Ooni of Ife was seated with other invited Emirs.
