Omisore In Early Plot For Senate Return In 2023

Former deputy governor of Osun State, Iyiola Omisore is planning to return to the senate in 2023, information at highstreet.ng has shown.

Otunba Iyiola Omisore was in the senate between 2003 and 2011.

He represented the people of Osun East Senatorial District during the period.

Earlier report by highstreet.ng indicated he has already given up on his ambition of governing Osun State.

The heavyweight politician who is the holder of “Apesinola” tittle of Ile Ife was the candidate of the Social Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2018 gubernatorial election in Osun State.

He was trounced alongside the candidate of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Ademola Adeleke by incumbent governor, Adegboyega Oyetola.

Omisore came third in the contest. His support gave the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and its candidate the winning number when the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared the election inconclusive and ordered a rerun.

“He’s contesting for Osun East Senatorial ticket in 2023 and his mind is made up already”, an insider disclosed.

The source went ahead to reveal the ruling APC the party he will seek re-election to the Senate.

Those who are familiar with activities around the former Senator maintained his senatorial ambition enjoys absolute support of governor Oyetola.
