Omisore Reveals Why He Wants To Be Osun Governor In 2026

Senator Iyiola Omisore has declared that he is the candidate Osun State needs to rescue and take it out of the woods.

Omisore, a former deputy governor, is one of the political bigwigs jostling for the All Progressives Congress (APC) gubernatorial ticket ahead of the 2026 governorship Election in Osun State.

And if he eventually secures his party’s ticket, Omisore has incumbent Governor Ademola Adeleke to contend with at the polls.

In a Facebook post today, December 2, 2025,  the former member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and its flagbearer during the governorship poll against Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola in 2014, insisted he’s in the race to rescue Osun State and its people.

“I was the deputy governor over 20 years ago. Experience cannot be bought.
The older the wine, the sweeter the wine. Osun State needs me right now to rescue them” – Senator Omisore’s brief message read.
