Oyo Kidnap: Safe Return Of Every Kidnap Victim Is The Overriding Objective, Says Presidency

The Presidency has welcomed Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde’s confirmation of active, collaborative security operations between the Federal Government and the state to ensure the safe rescue of pupils and teachers abducted in the Oriire Local Government Area.

Otega Ogra, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Digital Engagement, Strategy and New Media, commended the synergy in a statement shared via his official social media handle on Wednesday.

Ogra emphasized that the rescue operations are being executed under the direct instructions of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. The President has mandated immediate, seamless cooperation among federal security forces, state authorities, and local stakeholders.

“The overriding objective is the safe return of every victim,” Ogra stated, adding that Governor Makinde’s latest updates validate the high-level strategic partnership currently active on the ground.

Reaffirming the federal government’s stance on insecurity, Ogra declared that terrorism, banditry, and criminality run completely contrary to Nigerian values and have no place in the nation’s future.

Highlighting the critical role of intelligence in protecting lives, the presidential aide urged citizens to remain vigilant and report unusual activities.
“If you see something suspicious in your community, say something,” Ogra urged. “Timely information saves lives, strengthens security, and helps protect the communities we love.”
