Abdulrasheed Maina, a former chairman of the Pension Reform Task Team (PRTT), has arrived at the federal high court in Abuja in a wheelchair.

He was wheeled into the court by two prison wardens.

The court is expected to rule on his application for bail on Thursday.

Maina is standing trial on 12 counts of money laundering. He was first arraigned on October 25, and he pleaded “not guilty” to the charges.

On Tuesday, Okon Abang, the judge, ordered the deputy comptroller of the correctional service to personally examine the defendant to determine the true state of his health.

The court will also hear the bail application of Faisal, his son.
