The Speaker of Lagos House of Assembly and Chairman, Conference of Speakers of States Legislative Assemblies, Rt Hon Mudashiru Obasa, has enjoined staffers of Lagos House of Assembly, to pray for the spirit of excellence in the new year.

Obasa made this statement in his address during the Outreach Programme organized by the Christian Fellowship of Lagos House of Assembly on Friday, December 27, 2019, at the Assembly Pavilion.

The speaker said the spirit of excellence is not something that is usually very conspicuous for everybody to see. Nor is it something is that rewards easily or quickly.

His words; ” The spirit of excellence is like the righteousness that produces it, does not always pay quickly. But it sure pays eventually. And when it does finally pay, it more than makes up for the seeming delay.”

He prays that the Lord will remember them and visit their homes, workplace, and Lagos
 State in particular and Nigeria in general, with the spirit of excellence.

Obasa, also in his speech, sang the popular Christians song; ‘O ye ka dupe’, for the huge successes particularly in the areas of legislation, recorded by the House in the year.

Others dignitaries at occasion are; Dr Ibijoke Sanwo – Olu, the First of Lagos State, Chief Kemi Nelson, APC, South – West, Women Leader, Pastor Wole Oladiyun of CLAM, Mr Oguntayo, Special Adviser to the Governor on PMO, Mr Ganiyu Egunjobi, Chairman, Agege Local Government Council, and many others.
