President Tinubu Hails Oba Akiolu Of Lagos At 82

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu rejoices with His Royal Majesty, Oba Rilwan Babatunde Osuolale Aremu Akiolu I, the Oba of Lagos, on his 82nd birthday, hailing the revered monarch as a pillar of stability, wisdom, and continuity in Nigeria’s traditional and civic life.

In his message, President Tinubu describes Oba Akiolu as a steadfast custodian of the illustrious Lagos heritage, whose reign has upheld the dignity of the Iga Idunganran throne while deepening the bond between the traditional institution and the modern state.

President Tinubu commends Oba Akiolu’s unrelenting advocacy for equity, justice, and unity among all Lagosians. He notes that under Oba Akiolu’s two-decade reign, Lagos has continued to flourish as a centre of enterprise, coexistence, excellence and progress for Nigeria and Africa.

The President also pays tribute to the monarch’s distinguished service to the nation in his earlier years as a senior officer of the Nigeria Police Force, where he exemplified discipline and integrity before ascending the throne.

He praises His Majesty’s unwavering counsel to governments and leaders over the years, his wisdom in fostering development, and his tireless commitment to the well-being of his people.

President Tinubu prays that Allah will continue to bless the Oba of Lagos with long life, sound health, and renewed strength, so that his reign may continue to be a source of pride to the people of Lagos and the entire nation.
