Senate Clears Mahmood Yakubu For Another Term As INEC Chairman
Professor Mahmood Yakubu has been cleared lead the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for another term of five years.
His confirmation was announced today December 1, 2020 by the Senate.
The confirmation reportedly followed the consideration of the report of the Senate Committee on INEC, led by Senator Kabiru Gaya, which submitted its report at plenary and recommended Yakubu for confirmation.
