Special Thanksgiving Held For Gov Bago In Minna

A special Thanksgiving service has been held for the Niger State Governor, farmer Mohammed Umaru Bago.

The special service held at the House on the Rock Church in Minna brought together serving and former Christian public office holders under the current dispensation in the state.

The Deputy Speaker of the Niger State House of Assembly, Mrs. Afiniki Eunice Dauda, who led other Christian public office holders to the special service, explained that the Thanksgiving service was to appreciate God for the life of the farmer governor.

She said the special service was also a platform to make corporate prayers to God for the administration to accomplish all the projects it has initiated for a better life for the people.

The deputy speaker reminded Christians that the farmer governor has their interest at heart and will continue to carry them along to ensure fairness and inclusivity.

She enjoined them to continue to pray for leaders at all levels for quality and purposeful leadership while also tasking Christians to uphold the virtues of kindness, generosity,and respect, saying such are practical Christian living

The Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Mr. Obed Nana Nuhu also stressed the need for the people to sustain their prayers for leaders, adding that the farmer governor has demonstrated good leadership.

He acknowledged the challenges confronting the people in the state but assured them that they are surmountable and the present administration is taking practical steps to address them adequately.

Also speaking, the Coordinator to the Governor on Christian Affairs, Pastor Lawrence Mohammed Yisa, said the faithfulness of God in the life of the farmer governor cannot be overlooked; hence, his office organized the special service to thank God and to pray for a successful completion of all the projects he has started.

Earlier in his sermon, the resident pastor of the church, Pastor Peterock Sadiq, emphasised the need for political leaders to see themselves as true servant leaders that help to pull people out of poverty.

He highlighted some principles that can help leaders to succeed, including vision, righteousness, discipline,strong institutions,and productivity, among others.

Various clerics took turns to lead congregational prayers for God’s continued protection, good health, strength, and sound judgement for the farmer governor in all his decisions and for his administration to be successful.

Prayers were also made for the peace, stability, growth, and development of Niger State.
