Why Sanwo-Olu Is Celebrating Late Herbert Wigwe Today
The Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu is remembering his dear “brother and friend’, the deceased former Chief Executive Officer of Access Holdings, Herbert Wigwe today.
And the reason for this is straightforward, Mr Wigwe who died a in chopper accident alongside his wife, Chizoba and son, Chizzy on Friday February 9, 2024, would have turned 58 today, August 15, 2024.
The unfortunate incident that left many devastated happened near Venada and California in United States.

He took to his social media handle to express his pain that his dear friend and brother is “missing” on a special day that would have afforded them opportunity to have a good laugh together.
Fondly remembering and celebrating the late banking icon, Governor Sanwo-Olu wrote…
Today would have been Herbert’s 58th birthday, and we would have shared a laugh together. The pain of his loss is still so raw, but today, I choose to remember the man who was more than a brother and friend to me.
Herbert’s wisdom, vision, and unwavering belief in Nigeria remain etched in our hearts. We miss you deeply, my brother.
He was not just a leader; he was a beacon of hope and a visionary inspiring many. We honor his legacy of progress, integrity, and love for our country.
As we remember Herbert today, let us celebrate the incredible life he lived.
Rest in peace, my dear brother. Your spirit lives on in every heart you touched.
