Tinubu Announces Elimination of Senior ISIS Leader in Joint Nigeria-US Operation
President Bola Tinubu on Saturday announced a major breakthrough in the war against global terrorism following the elimination of top ISIS leader, Abu-Bilal Al-Manuki, during a targeted airstrike in the Lake Chad Basin.
According to a statement issued by the Presidency, the operation was executed by the Nigerian Armed Forces in close coordination with the United States military. President Tinubu described the successful mission as a “heavy blow to the ranks of the Islamic State.”
Expressing his appreciation to U.S. President Donald Trump and the operatives involved, Tinubu emphasized the strategic value of the international alliance.
“Nigeria appreciates this partnership with the United States in advancing our shared security objectives,” Tinubu said. “I extend my sincere gratitude to President Trump for his leadership and unwavering support in this effort.”
The President further praised the tactical execution of the mission, adding, “I commend the personnel involved on both sides for their professionalism and courage, and I look forward to more decisive strikes against all terrorist enclaves across the nation.”
